For once we have a super-cooked story about snakes that ISN'T from Australia.
An almost unbelievable photo of a king cobra and a python killing each other while locked in a battle of wills has hit the internet, demonstrating just how ridiculous the animal kingdom can be.
According to the caption, the cobra - the world's most venomous snake - decided to have a crack at an articulated python, which can grow to be the longest snake in the world.
Except as the cobra bit the python, the python did what it does best and coiled and strangled the cobra to death, before succumbing to the original bite.
We weren't the only ones questioning whether this could actually go down in real life or if it was a Photoshop job; Coleman Sheehy, a snake expert at the Florida Museum of Natural History, told National Geographic that it was "crazy" but "something I could easily see happening."
"It's a dangerous world out there, to eat other big snakes and things that could kill you," he added.
Frank Burbrink of the American Museum of Natural History agreed.
"It looks real, it doesn't look photoshopped or anything," Burbrink said. "This is a weird encounter but a lot of stuff that happens with snakes is never easily seen."
