Former Western Bulldogs midfielder Clay Smith has explained some reasons why the Dogs have been unable to reclaim their premiership-winning form from 2016.
LISTEN TO CLAY:
Smith, who retired from the Western Bulldogs last weekend due to persistent knee injuries, was a crucial part of their incredible 2016 premiership from seventh place.
But the Dogs failed to make finals last year and look to do so the same this year.
JB posed the question to Smith about what had happened since then, saying the side looked set up for "four or five years" of good form.
"That's probably what a lot of people thought, and we probably thought we were going to go alright for a little while too," he explained.
