Your Trip To The Airport Could Soon Be Toll And Traffic Light Free The Simpsons/ Fix

As if the current trip to the airport wasn't stressful enough, there are now plans for more interruptions with a freeway to be built joining the airport to new WestConnex infrastructure.

The project will cost between $2.2 billion and $2.6 billion, with work expected to take roughly five years to complete.

The road will start at the St Peters interchange and split off to both the domestic and international terminals - and it will be free, providing an easier trip from Parramatta to the airport.

However, this means that since the cost of building the road won't be covered by toll revenue, it will therefore hit the taxpayer's pocket.

“With Sydney Gateway completed, drivers will be able to travel between Penrith or Parramatta and the Domestic Airport terminal without stopping at a single traffic light,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

“This connection will also help to fix notorious bottlenecks and congestion on roads around the Airport, which often create headaches for travellers.
