The Government has launched a $124M Community Child Care Fund with local members throwing their support behind the initiative.
Funding will focus on improving child care participation and increasing the availability of places in disadvantaged, or, regional communities.
The grants are also for regional and remote centres in the hope that financial support will increase the availability of places available.
The program will focus on allowing easier access for vulnerable or disadvantaged family’s access childcare in regional or rural areas.
To be eligible for funding, applicants must be an approved provider of an approved child care service, seeking funding for an approved childcare service operating in a priority area, or, seeking funding for an approved child care service currently in receipt of funding under the department's Community Support Program.
Member for Mallee Andrew Broad is encouraging locals to get behind the scheme and apply.
