The City of Perth's Lord Mayor - Lisa Scaffidi - has fronted the press to cover a whole range of stories surrounding this year's much anticipated Skyworks show.
The conference makes for compelling listening.
Not only does Ms Scaffidi talk about what we can expect from this year's big show, but she also gives her views on the debate around the actual celebration of Australia Day.
"Is it the date that's really the issue? I think fundamentally behind the issue, it's not the date, it's actually how we treat each other and I think we need to get past all those discussions and be far more focused on being a truly connected community."
- Lisa Scaffidi
Of course, whilst the big show is what we're all talking about this week, the City of Perth have a whole bunch of stuff happening all weekend.
For your viewing pleasure, here is a listing of the things on offer.
