A local #Perth artist has shared on her Instagram account what can only be described as a stunning bit of artwork, that brings attention to the scourge of suicide and just how many people's lives it affects in society.
No words required. Just look at this:
It's a 'blanket' made from used coffee pods, and each pod represents a life lost to suicide in 2016, in Australia.
Straight from Sarah's Instagram post:
The blanket was created with community involvement; thousands of coffee pods were donated from all over Australia. The pods themselves are also a community, sewn mindfully together, each representing a person who lost their life to suicide in Australia in 2016. The raised pods represent males and the flattened pods represent females.

The sad thing about something as beautiful as this piece is that it represents something very real for thousands of Australians, their friends and family. Hopefully, initiatives like this from Sarah will highlight how real it is and encourage us as a society to talk about the issue.
