It’s an age old question. Do you, or do you not, kiss on a first date?
Well, someone in WA has done some research and it concludes that over half of West Australian men and women think it’s completely appropriate to kiss on a first date.
The recent survey, commissioned by Date Coach and Perth’s Millionaire Matchmaker Louanne Ward came up with the conclusion, but there is one catch.
It must be on a first date, with someone you have met previously.
“Absolutely a kiss is completely OK, as long as it is on a first date – by kiss I don’t mean a ‘hook up’ I mean a lingering kiss. Let me clarify what defines a first date. A first date is not an arrangement to meet someone for the first time, be it someone you are meeting though dating website, tinder or a blind date.
“If you have never met the person prior to your date I would suggest not kissing them,” she says.
The survey, which interviewed 650 men and women, including those in a relationship and singles in the Perth metro area, investigated ‘the things most likely to increase one’s chances of a second date’.
Interestingly both men and women identified ‘being punctual’ as the best way to increase one’s chances of securing a second date followed by ‘suggesting a venue for the second date’ and ‘asking a lot of questions’.
So there you go West Aussies. If you’re going on a first date tonight with someone you’ve met previously, why not go for that romantic first smooch?
