Well, that time is fast approaching... the mid-year school holidays.
Now, in our experience, stay at home parents either bloody love or bloody hate school holidays. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground, from our little straw poll held here in the office.
Dan joined Lisa and Fitzi on The Winter Breakfast to chat all things below:
So - this article is probably aimed more at the parents who need to get their kids out of the house... we've done a bit of asking around and some research to come up with a few ideas on how to keep the little angels amused this school holidays.
What's On At The Movies?
Depending on the age of your kids, there are a few options on offer.
The Incredibles 2 and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation are the two options that come to mind that will probably satisfy all tastes. We've seen HT:3 already and it's a riot, arguably the best of the trilogy to date.
What's On In The City?
The City Of Perth are again holding their massive Winter Fest, with so much stuff on offer.
We reckon the highlight has to be the Disney Binge... A whole day of Disney movies on Sunday 22 July at the Perth Town Hall.
The movies include:
- 10am – Finding Nemo
- 11.45am – Lion King
- 1.20pm – Beauty and the Beast
- 2.50pm – Bambi
- 3.05pm – Lady and the Tramp
- 4.25pm – 101 Dalmatians
They've also dedicated a whole web page to school holiday activities, check them out here.
Take In Some Theatre
If you're in and around Perth, you can head over the train lines to Northbridge and check out the reimagining of Roald Dahl's classic book George's Marvellous Medicine.
That's right... Roald Dahl live on stage.
When their byline reads as such:
"Please note that no animals (or Grandmas) will be harmed in the staging of this production"
You know it's going to be a wild day!
More Winter Fun
Winterworld is back in Freo and again, it looks an absolute ripper.
Skating rink... a real life snow pit... inflatable slide... and that's just the start!
Looks bloody amazing!
That magnificent event under the bigtop near the City Of Stirling is back for another year - and once again, it has something for all the kids (and kids at heart).
It has literally everything that the kids will bloody love... activities, exhibits, rides, showbags... games...
It's now been running for 5 years, so they're obviously getting something right!
School's Out At Scitech
You might have seen the ads rolling out - but Scitech looks like a place to get away this school holidays... There's all sorts of stuff happening at City West.
Something A Little Different
In case you weren't aware, Perth is hosting the National Artistic Rollerskating Championships from the 8th to the 13th of July.
The country's best will descend on the Herb Graham Rec Centre and entry is FREE!
Whatever you decide to do, let's hope the school holidays are as much fun for you as they should be for your kids!
