Seven Found Dead In 'Mass Tragedy' In Western Australia WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson

In tragic news today, seven people have been found dead at a rural property near Margaret River, south of Perth.

Homicide detectives and forensic investigators are arriving at a property in Osmington, where the bodies of three adults and four children were discovered this morning.

It is very early in the investigation, according to Police Chief Commissioner Chris Dawson.

"It is clearly a tragedy," he said.

"This will be a very large scale and detailed investigation."

Police were called to the property just after 5am where the grim discovery was made.

Five people - one adult and four children - were found inside the house, with two other adults found nearby.

Two guns were also found at the scene.

Authorities are trying to contact next of kin and won't be releasing more details until that has happened.

Police said there were no ongoing threats to public safety.
