A man who deliberately kicked a quokka in the courtyard of a Rottnest Island property has admitted to animal cruelty.
20-year-old Harrison Angus McPherson was filmed chasing and kicking the marsupial on February 11, while holidaying at the island.

The footage quickly circulated online after being filmed by Mr McPherson's friend Corey Douglas James, who laughed as he recorded the incident and has since been fined.
Mr McPherson's sentencing was adjourned until June 20 because a psychological report had not been completed.
Animal cruelty carries a maximum penalty of five years behind bars and a $50,000 fine.
