A new housing affordability report has ranked Perth the 20th most expensive city in the world to buy property.
The 13th Annual Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey says median house prices in Perth sit at $528,300, six times the average income.
Sydney was rated the second most expensive place in the world to purchase a home, with the average price an eye watering $1,000,000.
Hong Kong topped the international list.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Karratha, in the Pilbara, was ranked as one of the most affordable places to buy in Australia.
