It looks like Perth still has a problem with distracted drivers stealing glances at their phones while behind the wheel.
A police operation in the Victoria Park area yesterday lasted just 120 minutes, but landed 22 people infringements for using their mobiles while driving.
That's about one driver caught every five to six minutes, and all up, 66 demerits deducted.
Using a mobile behind the wheel will set you back $400 and three demerit points.
In 2016, 26 road fatalities were blamed on driver inattention, that's double the previous 5 year average.
