All the action is trackside at Ascot Racecourse this weekend, as the Masters series returns with an elite field of horses.

Dozens of horses arrived at Perth Airport this week in preparation for a full racing schedule in WA over the next three weeks, starting with the Inter Dominion at Gloucester Park on Friday.

The $1,000,000 Railway Stakes follows on Saturday, with champion trainers Gai Waterhouse, Chris Waller, David Hayes and Darren Weir all saddling up starters.

Perth Racing General Manager John Yovich is in no doubt that Saturday’s 16-horse field is the best there’s ever been.

“Perth Racing has lured an unprecedented amount of top-class horses across the Nullarbor, with seven interstate runners to contest the million dollar mile, making it the best Railway Stakes ever," said Professor Yovich.

Reigning champ Scales Of Justice is one of nine WA horses in contention.

The action isn't just on the track, as pop up bars, photo booths, a beer garden, fashions on the field and live entertainment are all on offer throughout the day.
