The artist formerly known as Perth International Arts Festival has announced their big lineup for season 2018.
That’s right… what you might remember as PIAF is now called Perth Festival and once again, it’s got something for everyone.
Next year, from February 9 through to March 4, there will be a whole range of exhibitions and experiences to suit every taste and budget.
Thousands of visitors are expected to flock to Perth City and its surrounds, as more than 700 of the planet’s best and brightest artists and entertainers descend on Perth for one of the world’s most magnificent multi-arts celebrations.
By the way, did you know that the Perth Festival is Australia’s oldest arts festival, celebrating its 65th year this year? No, we didn't either.
This year’s festival, orchestrated by Artistic Director Wendy Martin, includes nine Australian exclusives, two world premieres, five Australian season premieres, two commissions and a dizzying array of more than 230 music, theatre, dance, literature, film and visual art events… many of them free.
From their free opening event that heralds the rise and fall of the sun along St George’s Terrace to the soul-explosion finale at Elizabeth Quay, the festive spirit will arouse all the senses across 24 glorious summer days and nights.
Tickets for Friends of the Festival go on sale at Thursday 9 November, 7.30pm and General Public on sale Monday 13 November, 9am.
