Border Force Officials have seized thirteen bobtails concealed in a suitcase, allegedly headed for Japan.

The reptiles were uncovered when a suspicious package was detected inside a suitcase as it went through x-ray screening.

A Japanese national has been charged.

The maximum penalty for wildlife trade offences is 10 years’ imprisonment and the fine can be as much as $180,000.
