If, like many of us, you’ve suddenly realised it’s November and you’ve done absolutely nothing about organising something for the race that stops the nation, then never fear, we got a whole bunch of PR releases and have come up with 5 options based on where you might be looking to party.
Firstly, let’s start with the obvious.
It sort of makes sense to watch the great race at a racecourse, and Ascot are promising plenty.
Obviously there’s a big screen for the big race, but Ascot are hosting a great line up of local races, as well as putting on DJ’s, gourmet food, pop-up bars, the works.
There’s also a little thing called the Mumm Champagne Garden… yes please!
In The City
Well, technically it’s East Perth, but The Royal on the Waterfront looks the goods this year if you want a great day out, ON THE WATER!
Fashion shows, sweepstakes, a DJ, the party will be huge. They’re also serving freshly shucked oysters, can yo even imagine?
Whitfords Brewing Co. by Beerland will take on a Flemington feel this year as it celebrates its first Melbourne Cup event on 7 November in grand style. The event will be hosted by Jessica Bratich-Johnson, and has all the ingredients of a classic Melbourne Cup event – canapes and bubbles, fashion and fascinators, and prizes for the best-dressed punters, plus of course, their award-winning Beerland brews.
We love the idea of the ‘Glam’ make-up booth for hair and make-up touch ups during the day. Rock on to that, right ladies?
Caversham House probably seems a little unlikely, but we’ve read what they’re offering up and it goes like this.
- three course menu
- a premium selection of Swan Valley wines and beverages
- a complimentary cocktail and serve of paella on arrival
- live entertainment
- a photo booth
- beauty bar
- a fashion parade featuring the work of Betty Tran
All featured in the one raceday package. Booya!
The Gate Bar and Bistro in Cockburn are having not one, but TWO different events on Melbourne Cup day.
You have the choice between a three course lunch accompanied by a complimentary mystery bet; or a cocktail event including canapes served throughout the day.
Both events include a complimentary glass of champagne or beer on arrival, with sweepstakes, prizes for the best dressed and full TAB facilities also available on the day.
The Cottesloe Hotel has six simple words for you.
Melbourne Cup in the Beach Club.
Tickets are $95.00 which includes three drinks per person, a substantial catering menu plus all the entertainment and fun.
And, it’s at The Cott… what a location!
Happy Melbourne Cup day everybody, however you choose to celebrate it.
