A Jacob’s Ladder style fitness staircase is one step closer to being built in Perth’s north.
The City of Joondalup has allocated $420,000 of its 2017-18 budget towards constructing a staircase at Whitfords Nodes Park in Hillarys, according to WA Today.
The ‘Look-out stairways’ will connect the park to the northern look-out.
As Perth’s fitness fanatics know, things can get pretty crowded at Jacob’s Ladder in Kings Park. A second training option in the northern suburbs could help to ease some of that congestion.
The concept plan which was presented to the council featured around 150 steps, which is 100 less than Jacob’s Ladder. However the council will decide on a final design once they have sourced external funding for the project. They’ll also need to get environmental approval for the staircase.
Construction is expected to begin during the 2017-18 financial year.
