A Comprehensive List Of Fun School Holiday Things To Do In Perth City City Of Perth

If you're already looking at ways to escape the house these school holidays, the City of Perth have released a full schedule of fun stuff and things to do.

And, for the most part, many of them are free activities.

Take it from their CEO, Martin Mileham.

 

"Plenty of creative, interactive and free activities occurring both indoors and outdoors will keep the kids entertained for hours."

 

We're noting the "indoors" part of this quote, because the start of the school holidays looks, quite frankly, sh*thouse weather wise.

So, without further ado, here is the list of stuff to do.

 

Giant Kaleidoscope

  • Elizabeth Quay, Western Promenade
  • From 15 September until 13 October
  • FREE, Family friendly
  • Step into this giant, 12 metre kaleidoscope and be dazzled from all angles as it reflects colour and light.

 

Breakdance Classes

  • The Piazza, Northbridge
  • 23 to 30 September
  • 10am to 2pm
  • FREE, Family friendly
  • Since its re-insurgence in the 1990's, this freestyle dance to funk and hip hop has gained popularity across the globe. Challenge yourself and give it a try.

 

Laser Tag

  • Russell Square, Northbridge
  • 23, 24, 30 September and 1 October
  • FREE, 6 to 16 year olds
  • Russell Square turns into a futuristic combat zone as you take on opposing teams in a battle for laser tag bragging rights.

 

80s Style Silent Disco and Chill Zone

  • Forrest Place
  • 23 September to 8 October
  • 10am to 2pm
  • Media Release
  • FREE, Family friendly
  • Transport back in time and chill out 80s style with couches and arcade games aplenty in Forrest Place. Plus, listen to tunes from some of the best artists of all time as part of the silent disco.

 

Dinosaur Mask Making

  • Step back millions of years at a free dinosaur mask-making workshop as part of the WA Museum’s Dinosaur Discovery exhibition at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Paint Your Own Pet Rock for WA Rock Hunt

  • FREE, Family friendly Hand paint your very own rock and get some tips on how to play the hide-and-seek game that is taking over the City.

 

AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things Perth Cultural Centre

  • 30 September to 9 October

  • Head to the Perth Cultural Centre during the spring school holidays to witness a spectacular array of theatre, dance, interactive activities, creative workshops, music and film.

 

Parkour Classes

  • The Piazza, Northbridge
  • 1 to 8 October
  • 10am to 2pm
  • FREE, Ages 7 and up
  • Learn to overcome physical and mental obstacles through running, jumping, climbing, balancing and other techniques.
