Well, it's that time of year again.
And, with the weather more than likely to get a little on the wet side, there'll no doubt be times when you've just got to take advantage of a break in the weather and GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
So, with all this in mind, we've had a chat with the parents in the office and come up with a top 11 things to do in Perth with the kids this school holidays.
1. Take Them Ice Skating
Yep - there's winter Ice Skating here in Perth this school holidays!
Winterworld Australia is back and will be on until July 16.
Both sides of the river are covered. If you're north, there's a rink down at Hillarys Boat Harbour.
If you're south, head down to Freo for all the action.
Who said you can't get ice and snow in #Perth ;)
2. Catch A Flick
Yes, it's an oldie but still a goldie.
There's nothing quite like a visit to the movies for at least 2 hours of hopeful peace and quiet.
And, there's a couple of ripping options. Cars 3, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul and our personal fave, Despicable Me 3
For the older kids, there's Transformers: The Last Knight, Wonder Woman and Baywatch... but if they're old enough to watch these, they're probably going to the movies themselves ;)
3. See The Brickman
Ryan "Brickman" McNaught is a certified LEGO professional, and he's created a brand new exhibition showcasing the wonders of the world and more.
It's mind blowing!
The Brickman once came in and took Pete on in a LEGO building challenge.
4. Take Them To Lunch / Dinner
Obviously, there's WAY too many options to mention here, but one idea we love is a meal at The Herdsman Lake Tavern.
Why? Two words...
5. Why Not Try Circus Gymnastics?
Tire the little darlings out with some of this awesomeness.
6. Take Them To The Garden
Araluen Botanic Park are running junior gardening workshops, which is perfect for those kids who like to get their hands dirty.
AKA every kid in Perth ;)
7. Hunting For (Painted) Rocks
It's all the rage at the moment and is a great way to get the kids out and about in nature.
They're literally the gift that keeps on giving. You can get the kids to decorate their own rocks, then take them out to your local reserve and hide said rocks, then let the kids go and try and find news ones.
There's a whole bunch of FB pages that celebrate this burgeoning community.
8. Try VR Gaming
If you're near or around Balcatta, did you know that there's a brand new Virtual Reality gaming place? Optimus Gaming.
Probably more suitable for the 10+ kids, so keep that in mind.
Another cliche, but Perth Zoo is truly somewhere special for kids and kids at heart. Anyone who grew up in Perth no doubt spent at least one day at the zoo, which has really come a long way in everything it does.
What's more, they've got super school holidays activities on offer.
10. Inflatable World
Yes. It's an inflatable extravaganza that actively encourages adults to join in on the fun.
The City of Perth are celebrating pinwheels with a big exhibition.
What's more, each child is permitted to take one pinwheel home to continue the splash of colour this winter.
And if you're up for a drive? A bonus suggestion.
12. Tree Top Climbing - Dwellingup
Trust us, we've tried this out before and whilst it ain't exactly for the faint hearted, it's so much fun.
It not only gets the kids out and about, they also learn to face fears and overcome challenges.
For the littler kids, there is a truly fantastic junior course as well. Just watch them go.
Finally, if none of this inspires you, Lisa and Pete had an expert in to discuss things to do. Some great suggestions in here, thanks to Lauren Angove from Kids Around Perth.
