Terrifying random attack

Sydney Woman Punched In The Face And Dragged Into Car
A woman has been punched in the face and dragged into a car, in a terrifying random attack in broad daylight near Burwood train station.

The 27 year old was walking along Burwood Crescent, towards the station just after 10am on Sunday, when she was approached by a man as she neared the Park Road intersection.

She attempted to walk around him, but he immediately grabbed and dragged her towards a car on the opposite side of the road, before punching her in the face and throwing her into the rear of the vehicle.

"As you can imagine the young lady was quite shaken by the incident and quite distressed" Sergeant Anthony Trainer duty officer from Burwood Local Area Command said.

Luckily a witness driving past stopped to help and the 27 year old managed to run from the car and the guy drove off.

"The young lady has been able to fight her attacker, before a witness stopped, rendered some type of assistance and the young lady was able to exit the vehicle and make her way home, before reporting it to the police" Sergeant Trainer said.

The man is described as being aged in his mid 20's, Caucasian appearance, about 180-190cm tall with a muscular build and at the time he was wearing a dark blue coat.

He was driving a blue 2007 model Holden Captiva SUV with QLD rego plates 362RUL. Police say don't approach the man or the vehicle but call Triple Zero if sighted.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers reporting page.
