Samsung is releasing its refurbished version of the controversial Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, you might remember that was the handset model that had to be globally recalled last year, after handsets started randomly caching on fire thanks to an issue with the battery.
The fiasco cost the tech giant operating losses of around $US5.2 billion.
The refurbished Galaxy Note FE (Fan Edition) will reportedly go on sale July 7. The update is believed to have a lower-capacity battery compared to the original model, after attempts to develop a long-lasting but smaller battery were found to be partly to blame for the phones catching fire.
