An Irish jockey has been handed a four-day ban from racing for punching his horse Kings Dolly before a race last month.
He was initially given a caution by the Turf Club but that was overturned after the industry regulator deemed it too lenient.
The footage (below) clearly shows Davey Russell strike the back of the horse's head.
The video sparked massive backlash on social media.
Russell defended himself while speaking to At the Races, claiming he doled out the slap before the Tramore race in order to control her.
