Former Prime Minister Bob Hawke is bringing out his own beer called 'Hawke's Lager'.
The brew starts rolling out at Sydney venues today and will be officially launched by Hawke's Brewing Co.
Hawke's relationship with drinking beer goes back to when he was a student in the UK where he broke a Guinness World Record for drinking a yard glass of ale in 11 seconds.
Hawke also famously skolled a beer after receiving chants at the SCG during a test match between Australia and India 5 years ago
The former PM has entered into a partnership agreement with environmental not-for-profit, Landcare Australia, with a percentage of profits from the company’s beer sales helping to support rural initiatives around the country.
The official launch of Hawke’s Brewing Co will be held at The Clock Hotel in Surrey Hills from 3pm - Thursday 6 April
