So the PM's officially announced some beefed up requirements for migrants wanting to become Aussie citizens.
Malcolm Turnbull reckons the screening needs to reflect Aussie values and applicants will now have to demonstrate competent English language skills.
According to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), that means you have 'effective command of the language despite some inaccuracies' and you can understand fairly complex language.
There'll be a tougher reading, writing and listening test and more "meaningful questions" that cover topics like domestic violence, child brides and education.
