Peter Dutton has confirmed he still reckons he’s “the best person to lead the Liberal Party”
He resigned his position as home affairs minister after narrowly losing a leadership challenge to Mr Turnbull on Tuesday.
But Mr Dutton, who was doing the media circuit this morning, has all but confirmed he’s preparing for another challenge:
“I just wanna ask: when’s the challenge gonna be? Obviously the reason you’re doing this PR ow and letting people know who you are as a person is cause you’re gonna have another go at it, so what’s the timeline?” Comedian Wil Anderson asked Dutton on Triple M Melbourne this morning.
“I said yesterday I believed I was the best person to lead the party…. The decision of the party room yesterday was that I wasn’t successful,” Dutton replied.
“We’ll see what the future holds.”
