Authorities are investigating after an English woman working as a table-top dancer was found dead in a Melbourne strip club.
Victoria Police say the 29-year-old woman's body was found at the CBD venue just before midday on Monday December 19.
"The exact circumstances surrounding the English woman's death are yet to be determined and a post-mortem will be conducted," a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
News Corp Australia says the dancer who died was Stacey Tierney.
It's reported Ms Tierney was a fitness instructor from Manchester who'd been travelling and working in Australia for three years.
News Corp says the 29-year-old had been partying at the closed Dreams Gentlemen's Club with several men on Sunday December 18 before her body was discovered the following day.
A gofundme.com page has been set up to help raise money to repatriate Ms Tierney's body to the United Kingdom.
"Stacey was living her life to the full in Australia and she has made a huge impact on everyone who knew her," the fundraising page states.
"The aim is to raise funds to bring her home to give her a send of fit for a princess."
So far people have donated almost $20,000.
