Australian Dual Olympic Medallist Charged With Several Drug Offences

Dual Olympic silver medalist and former world champion Jack Bobridge has appeared in Perth Magistrates court on several drug charges.

The South Australian faces five charges of drug possession and one of possessing party drug MDMA with the intent to sell.

The three-time Olympian had his North Perth home searched as part of a wider police operation targeting drug offenders in Perth's nightclub scene.

Bobridge, who hails from Gawler in South Australia, retired from his decorated career late last year after winning silver medals in the Team Pursuit at London 2012 and Rio 2016; he now runs a cycling and fitness gym in Perth.

He is due to attend court again at a later date.
