The Victorian man behind the wheel of a multi-million dollar McLaren which crashed in New Zealand on Saturday has skipped a court apperance.
63 year old Barry Leigh Fitzgerald has been charged with operating a vehicle carelessly after the $20 million car smashed into a ditch near Queenstown. The car had been part of a procession of McLarens travelling from Queenstown to Glenorchy.
Lawyer Nic Soper appeared on his behalf, organising for a remand without plea until the New Year.
"All I can tell you is he didn't appear this morning ... [his car] is being looked after."
