The two arrests have been confirmed as being related to this morning's shooting in Thomastown.

A man presented at a hospital in Melbourne's north having driven himself to the emergency ward after being shot.

A 35-year-old Thomastown man presented at a hospital in Epping at about 3:15am with gunshot wounds, and police attended an address in Thomastown to make enquiries.

Two men were arrested in the area after negotiations and are assisting police with their enquiries.


A second man has been arrested by police.



Police are surrounding a house in Thomastown in Melbourne's north following reports of a siege situation.

News outlets have reported that a man has been led from the house in handcuffs while another remains inside.

"Police are currently responding to an incident at a residence on Alexander Avenue, Thomastown as part of an ongoing investigation," a Victoria Police statement reads.

"Critical Incident Response Team members are attending and the area has been cordoned off as a precaution. There is no threat to public safety. As the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this time."
