CNN Expose North Korean Golf Story As A Sham
Well, it was fun while it lasted...
Contrary to the popular belief that two blokes from Brisbane crashed a prestigious North Korean golf tournament pretending to be Australian representatives, CNN have exposed the truth.
The tournament wasn't very special at all.
In fact, it was simply an annual event put on by a British travel company where amateurs are encouraged.
According to the company's website: "Bookings are taken exclusively through British travel agents Lupine Travel."
The tournament was a paid experience that included "breakfast, lunch and dinner each day" in the price of the booking.
The story included the fact that the larrakins tailored their own Australian golf jackets for added athenticity - but this really wasn't required at all.
According to CNN: "Some played with windbreakers on, and the tournament also included a bride and groom in their wedding outfits."
Ah well... It still made for a ripper yarn!
