Still time to reunite the pair for the Melbourne Cup?

Michelle Payne is gearing up to ride against a familiar face this Saturday when she competes against her Melbourne Cup winner Prince of Penzance in the Herbert Power Stakes at Caulfield.

The horse is top weight in the 2400m Group II race, while Payne is expecting to be competitive on her mount Dandy Gent, trained by Terry and Karina O'Sullivan

"I was rapt when Karina rang me. This horse is going fantastic. He;s got ability and he's at the right distance."

The champion jockey has not completely given up hope of riding Prince of Penzance in the Melbourne Cup again this year, however the chances are getting slimmer as time passes on. She hasn't ridden the horse in any of his three starts since her serious fall back in May.

Despite that fall, Payne is feeling good and riding well. As is Prince of Penzance. Is there still a chance for yet another fairytale story for the pair?
