Today Is Likely To Be The Coldest Cox Plate Day EVER
The freezing conditions at Flemington today mean that today’s Cox Plate is probably going to be the coldest in the race’s 94-year history.
Melbourne has shivered through rain and hail today, and the top temperature is expected to be just 13 degrees.
If the mercury stays below the 12.9 degrees recorded in 1970, it will be a new record for the race.
South westerly winds mean that the weather feels like it’s in single digits.
The main race is at 5pm today, with Winx looking to defend her crown against main contender Hartnell.
