Eddie McGuire has exclusively told Triple M’s Hot Breakfast that Socceroos superstar Harry Kewell will join the Melbourne Victory ahead of the next A-League season.

There had been a lot of conjecture surrounding Kewell’s future in recent times after his contract with Turkish side Galatasaray expired at the end of last season.

A number of A-League clubs had been chasing his signature but, according to Eddie, the Victory have won the race for the former Liverpool star.

Eddie said Kewell will be officially presented with his guernsey when the Victory meet Scottish giant Celtic in a friendly at AAMI Park on July 13.

Kewell is one of Australia’s greatest ever soccer exports having spent 12 seasons in the English Premier League with Leeds United and Liverpool.

He has also represented the Socceroos on 54 occasions.

What will Kewell's recruitment do for the A-League?
