Geelong assistant coach Matthew Scarlett has confirmed the Cats' line-up will be shaken up tonight.

With tall forward Daniel Menzel ruled out through a groin injury, Geelong will have to adapt to hit the scoreboard.

And Scarlett has confirmed exactly how.

"Lachie Henderson will be up forward tonight," he revealed on Triple M's Friday Rub.

"We hope a couple of our talls can have good nights. Obviously Tommy Hawkins is in super form, he just got going just before the finals and now he's in red hot form...Rhys Stanley can go down there and take a mark, and Zac Smith as well."

He was optimistic the Cats could post a winning score.

"We hope we can clunk a few marks tonight, but we really rate their defensive back six or seven, they've had an outstanding year," he said.

Cam Guthrie also looks likely to start down back.
