Footscray Humiliate Collingwood In VFL Preliminary Final
What a weekend for the Bulldogs!
Footscray has powered its way into a VFL grand final, humiliating Collingwood to the tune of 119 points.
It was simply too easy for the Bulldogs as they won 27.19 (181) to 9.8 (62).
The Bulldogs entered underdogs against the highly-fancied Collingwood but looked anything but, kicking nine consecutive goals in the first half to establish their dominance.
From there on it became effortless as they strolled through Collingwood's backline with ease to kick seven goals in the first 14 minutes of the last quarter.
They were well led by forward Ben Long, who slotted a lazy six goals.
Western Bulldogs youngster Mitch Honeychurch also managed 28 disposals and kicked 2.3, and Lukas Webb kicked three goals among 30 disposals.
Outgoing Magpie Brent Macaffer managed 28 disposals for the Pies.
It books a grand final spot for Footscray next Sunday - the day after the Western Bulldogs travel to Sydney to play GWS in their own preliminary final.
They will take on the winner of tomorrow's clash between Casey and Williamstown.
