Ex-Magpie Wins Sandover Medal
Former Collingwood rookie Jye Bolton has elevated his AFL stocks by taking out the prestigious Sandover Medal in WA.
Bolton was taken with pick 73 in the 2010 rookie draft, spending the 2011 season on the Magpies' list.
Playing for Claremont in the WAFL, he polled 49 votes in 20 games to beat Fremantle's Matt De Boer.
Ex-St Kilda tagger Clint Jones finished the count in third place.
Bolton is hopeful that his successful season would attract interest again from AFL clubs.
"I would love nothing more than to have another opportunity to play at the highest level," he told The West Australian.
"I want to play as high as I can for as long as I can. So if someone was to give me that opportunity I would grab it with both hands.
"I would go anywhere around the country in a heartbeat if someone gives me the chance to play in the AFL."
