Gaelic Football Controversially Introduces An AFL Rule

Not dissimilar to when the AFL introduces a rule change, Irish football fans are blowing up with the news of a significant introduction to their game.

The GAA have announced that as of January 1, 2017 the 'mark' will be part of Gaelic Football.

According the the rules posted on Twitter by the official body, the rules are as follows:

  • The mark can only be awarded from a kick-out
  • The player must mark it on or beyond the 45m line
  • The player may opt to take a 'free kick' or playing on immediately
