North Melbourne are still hopeful of landing Greater Western Sydney young gun Will Hoskin-Elliott, according to Triple M Footy’s Damian Barrett.
Hoskin-Elliott still has another year to run on his contract with the Giants but is strongly tipped to leave Spotless Stadium this trade period.
Collingwood are reportedly in the box seat to win the services of the precocious midfielder, but Damo told AFL Trade Radio on Monday that the Kangaroos were still planning on “trumping” the Magpies.
Quad and hamstring injuries restricted the 23-year-old to only two matches in 2016.
But even when he was fit, he failed to break into the Giants’ best 22 and played eight NEAFL matches.
A former No.4 draft pick, Hoskin-Elliott has played 52 matches for GWS since debuting in 2012.
