Hawks Make Offer For Vickery
Richmond have three days to match Hawthorn's bid
Hawthorn has officially made a bid for Richmond key forward Ty Vickery as a restricted free agent.
The Hawks have offered Vickery a two-year deal and the Tigers now have until Monday to match the offer.
If Richmond fail to match the contract, Vickery will become a Hawk.
Hawthorn recruiting and list manager Graham Wright said Vickery was keen to head to Waverley Park.
“We are hopeful that we have provided him with a deal that will see this come to fruition,” Wright said.
“His ability to play both ruck and forward is an extremely valuable asset, making him a fantastic addition to our list.
“At 26 years of age Ty has plenty of football left to play and we look forward to seeing what he can produce at the Hawks.”
A former top-10 pick, Vickery has played 119 games and kicked 158 goals for the Tigers over eight seasons.
Vickery was dropped twice this year and finished the season playing in the VFL.
