Should it stay or should it go? Post by: Mix 94.5 19 January, 2009 - 4:46 PM
Some people will be sad, some people will be stoked. In any case, Daylight Saving finishes this Sunday morning, 29 March 2009. Remember to set your clocks back one hour. Best practice is to do it before you go to sleep Saturday night.
Tell us what you thought of the three year trial. Tell us how you're going to vote.
- What did you think of the three year trial?
- Has the trial changed your vote, either for or against?
- Should the referendum be more than just a "yes" or "no" type question?
- Did the curtains really fade? Did the milk go sour? :)
Have your say on Daylight Saving...
Blackley's Say
Ian reckons for the referendum to be done right, some critical questions need to be asked.
Have your say
Ian's got another pertinent point on Daylight Saving. it's all about Mountains Not Molehills.
The Weird Excuses
The Bunch heard all sorts of excuses for and against Daylight Saving. Listen to them and tell us what you think.

I don't like it!
It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. We have had 3 referendums on this matter to date in the last 30 years. All have been knocked back & for good reasons.
As a result, the state government, the very people we elect (or not) decided in it's wisdom to run a 3 year trial. Do you really think opinions are going to change? The people of WA have spoken before. Stop wasting our funds & our time on something so stupid.

If anyone wants an extra hour in their day just needs to get out of bed and start their own day an hour earlier!
My husband and sons are in the building industry, they are working longer hours and are like red raw lobsters by the time they get home. this cant be healthy.
Don't see why businesses cant start working an hour earlier. this might also help with traffic congestion in the morning/afternoon.
banks have different working hours to other businesses we all get around that. -

Get with the times, it does not fade curtains, it is not an extra hour, it just allowing parents to spend daylight time with their children when we are in a society of work, work, work, and it allows Business to stay in touch with Interstate. The amount of sunlight does not change, daylight savings or not the sun still shines for the same amount of time. -

It should stay!!! It promotes living a more active lifestyle. It gives us an oppurtunity to get to the beach, go for a run or just enjoy the sun while its up for an hr extra after work. I love it!!

Daylight saving is a nightmare! Especially if you have kids. Try getting them off to sleep at 8pm when its still light outside. Plus, its dark in the morning when some people like to exercise IE: Swimmers at cottesloe. Sucks
