Plasma Pete
Company Name: Australian Red Cross Blood Service
Age: Although my best friend Billi Blood Drop won’t admit it, I am a little younger than her!
Height: Tall enough to run well.
Weight: Over 50 kg…I can’t reveal how much over.
Training Regime: I train with the beautiful Billi Blood Drop. We make other peoples’ hearts beat!
Best Training Tip: Drinking 6 – 8 glasses of water and enjoying a good meal before donation. Then, relaxing afterwards in the donor refreshment area.
Guilty Pleasure: I love putting my feet up in the donor couch and chatting to the friendly staff at the Blood Service. As I am donated every few weeks I feel like part of the family!
What the world doesn't know about me: Once donors give 1 whole blood donation they can then ask about giving plasma! I can be donated more often. Different products can be made from me that help people with cancer, burns and heart disease.
When I grow up I want to be: Running through the veins of a healthy, active person whose life a generous plasma donor saved!
Mascot Motto: "First do a whole blood donation. Then save more lives! Ask us how your blood type is able to help even more people."
