Who'll Get Lost First? Post by: Lisa Fernandez 5 March, 2009 - 11:12 AM
As part of our roadtrip through Australia's Coral Coast, we're all going to be taking turns to drive and navigate the RV.We had a caller, Kym the truckie, who thinks girls are more likely to get lost than blokes.
Who do you think is more likely to get us lost? Clairsy and Shane, representing the blokes, or me, representing the girls?

so long as the girls can turn the map in the direction they are going they are ok, what are they going to do with the TomTom etc my wife argues with it that its going the wrong way go figure :)

Clairsy and Shane will definitely get lost! At least women are more sensible and would ask for directions! And, women can definitely read maps!

Well I know Lisa quite well and even though there is only one road leading to Exmouth it is more than likely she will end up at Meekathara if she is in charge of directions.
Lisa I hope you were planning to say hi when you are in Carnarvon.

Humble opinion - both sexes are as bad as each other, either you have the sense or you don't
My boss (male) is pathetic he uses a satnav auto route for even simple tasks.
My mother is really good and when we went to Sydney even with a current UBD I goofed up (slightly just didn't see small one way arrow on map) and she looked and figured it out in a flash
If I had to rely upon anybody dare i say it - give me a female calling the notes
Look at australia's top co-drivers for rallying they are female, and damn good at it too !

Men are better map readers than women but only when they can be bothered reading one.
Women use maps more than men. Men tend to use electronic devises or guess work...
Women read maps more often but have to turn it to the direction they are going. (nothing wrong with that)
My husband is a cartographer (Map Maker) and laughs at me when I turn the map upside down but he never gets lost with my directions.
