To Brush Or Not To Brush Post by: The Big Couch 27 October, 2009 - 3:37 PM
We were pleasantly surprised to see that the Australian Women's Weekly has published a photo of Sarah Murdoch without any airbrushing whatsoever. (via thewest.com)
It's a massive step for both the magazine and for Sarah herself... a woman who got her start in life based on her great looks.
We think that all magazines should follow the AWW's lead and do the same. Throw the airbrush out the window.
What do you think? Would you like to see all the mags follow suit? And has Sarah Murdoch made the right move?

I think it's a bad move - she looks average now where I always had a big crush on her - dream shattered

Jack - perhaps if your dreams involve unrelastic images of women, you should stick to the blow up doll. Good on her - at 37 I can only hope I look so great!

If one person does it, everybody's going to follow, so there's going to be more saying no in the near future. So go Sarah Murdoch!!!

Go girl - thank god someone as beautiful has her has been brave enough to do this. She looks amazing and real. Air brushing sends the wrong message to females of all ages

I'm getting a tad annoyed! She has been airbrushed! I love Sarah and think this is a wonderful stand but a few crows feet doesn't constitute untouched!!! I think this is so false and misleading. Please, take a good look at the photo. She has had "work". Where is a pore? Look at the lips and teeth, look at the paler colour on the bridge of the nose. I want to see the REAL photo. the one they took before the graphic artist got to it. I'm sure she would still look beautiful if it really were "natural" but I'm surprised she is happy for the WW to pedal this line. It can only be a marketing ploy, surprise, surprise.

This is a beautiful and realistic photograph of a stunning woman.
I believe that it is becuase of people such as yourself Jack that promote a negative self image in others and deter people from going to the beach in bathers etc.
What ever happened to seeing the best in people - naturally?

Yes, seriously Jack, have you never seen a 37 year old woman in real life?!! We DON"T look like airbrushed, wrinkle-less aliens..I mean just look at Nicole Kidman, no one at her age has NO wrinkles and a forehead as smooth as that without work/technical help!!

she's still beautiful...even more so for some maturity. Women and fruit all too often get rejected for what are considered flaws...but a little mark or line on the outside doesn't mean the inside isn't as sweet and wonderful as can be!
about time we waved the flag for maturity, realism and honesty. Bring it on I say!!!!and as for the mysogynists among you...have you looked in a mirror lately ;P
