Thunderstorm Asthma Claims More Lives In Melbourne

Six people have now died as a result of Melbourne's bizarre thunderstorm asthma.

Two more Melburnians have passed away on Sunday due to the freak weather event, bringing the tally to six.

"There have now been six deaths that may have occurred as a result of conditions relating to the thunderstorm asthma events on Monday," a health spokesman said in a statement on Sunday.

Five people are still receiving specialist ICU care in Melbourne's hospitals, with three in a critical condition, according to reports.

Monday's storm saw 1,900 calls to emergency services, and roughly 8,500 cases of thunderstorm asthma of varying levels.
