Monitoring Terrorists Costing Us 'A Bomb'

Keeping a constant eye on terrorists and terror suspects is seriously expensive!

With a single operation estimated to cost security agencies up to $4 million bucks, it's no wonder they want to catch them quick stat!

Constant monitoring of those on the watch list requires at least $3 million to $4 million in electronic and human surveillance, as well as additional legal costs associated with having the 24-hour court-ordered control order approved.

The costs were revealed in a hearing of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security that also proposed post-sentence detention laws.

This would allow the Government to keep terrorists in custody even after their sentences had been served, if they were still deemed a risk.
