Spend Or Save Post by: Mix 94.5 11 March, 2009 - 11:03 AM

It's back... from today people will start receiving the second round of cash payments as part of the Government's $42 billion fiscal stimulus package.

We'd love to know... what are you going to do with the cash?
  • Spend Spend Spend?
  • Spend and save some?
  • Save it for a rainy day?
If you are going to spend it, what are you going to spend it on? Holiday, new TV, ah the possibilities.

Tell the world how you plan to spend your cash.

Yep, my whole family, five of us and partners who will be getting the money will be spending it.........on bills. Thats the way it is. A new dishwasher would be good, but getting out of the sh... a bit would be a lot better.

I'm an immigrant who has been here since August. Since I moved here I have purchased two houses. One house I have outright, the other I have paid off about 1/2 of the mortgage.

I'm using this money for that mortgage and will help pay it off faster.

I can't understand why so many people live above their means. I strive to live below mine. I pay cash whenever I can. I don't finance (except in this case I did to buy that second house and take advantage of all of these falling house prices). If you don't have money, don't spend it. Don't go on vacation, do buy a new car. It's that attitude which has put us all in this economic mess.

In terms of monthly income and outgoings, thing are so tight that it's going into the bank and will seep easily out again with routine expenses.

Most of the people who seen to love daylight savings seem to be ex pat poms. We reach our peak temp at about 3.30pm in summer!! Way too hot in the afternoon and takes longer for the house to cool down before going to bed. Maybe we need to use the air conditioner more often? Next thing we'll be having bans on using them late in the afternoon as it will put such a strain on the energy. Oh, wait, that's already starting to happen!! I moved from Sydney 10 years ago. Loved daylight savings there, hate it here. Wonder if the government will really listen this time?
