Analisa Bell says
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND Rosie Portelou* returns!!!
After a SOLD-OUT season Downstairs at the Maj in September, cabaret starlet Analisa Bell is re-mounting her spoof cabaret, Gold-digger: the shags to riches story of Australias Iron Whore, for one night only.
On Thursday 11 November 2010, the Subiaco Arts Centre Studio will be home to Rosie Portelou*. Love her or hate her she has taken the world of tabloid magazines by storm. From her days in the Philippines, to her infamous marriage to mining magnate Sam Bankock*, and then of course, Billy*, Analisa Bell takes a closer look at the life of Australias most outrageous socialite.
Gold-Digger had its origins at the 2009 Short and Sweet Cabaret Festival in Melbourne, where Analisa was named a Finalist. Featuring popular tunes such as It Had to Be You and Madonnas Material Girl, and original compositions like Poodle Ballet and Pethidine Polka, composed by Perths very own Tim Cunniffe, this tongue in cheek cabaret is sure to have you in stitches!
*Please note: Any similarities in character or story to existing people are purely coincidental. This show also contains adult themes.
What the media had to say about the September season:
Weve had Shane Warne the Musical and Keating!, but IC reckons the next big hit Aussie show could be a musical homage to someone who looks a lot like our very own Rose Porteous... an absolute gem of a cabaret show
-Inside CoverThe original songs by Bell and the admirable Tim Cunniffe... give Bell's bravura talents fullest scope.
-David Zampatti, The West AustralianShow starts at 7pm. Cabaret seating.
