    Crafty critters and tasty treats are on offer at City of Bayswater libraries during the July school holidays, as part of a range of free activities to keep the kids busy.

    Designed for children aged six and over, its a chance to design stylish T-shirts, create stuffed animals, enjoy tacos and dips and make sparkling sun catchers, illuminating aliens and baskets using recycled materials.

    The program across the three City of Bayswater is as follows:

    Morley Public Library: REmida (basket weaving), 3pm-4.30pm, July 8; Felties (making stuffed animals), 3pm-4pm, July 13; Design a T-shirt, 3pm-4pm, July 15 (bring your own coat hanger).

    Maylands Public Library: Felties, 2.30pm-3.30pm, July 6; Dip day, 2.30pm-3.30pm, July 13.

    Bayswater Public Library: Mad Martians (make your own alien), 2.30pm-3.30pm, July 7; Mexican Fiesta (tacos and crafts), 2.30pm-3.30pm, July 9, Sun Catchers, 2.30pm-3.30pm, June 14.

    Bayswater Public Library is at 25 King William Street, Bayswater; Gerry Leeuwangh Public Library (Morley branch) is at 7 Dewar Street, Morley, and Maylands Public Library is on the corner of Guildford Road and Eighth Avenue, Maylands.

    All activities are free but bookings are required on 9272 0980.

    Hijacked is a collaborative publication of art-photography that surveys new work from contemporary Australian and international photographers. Each edition contrasts photography from Australia with photography from another country (USA in Volume One; Germany in Volume Two).
    Hijacked Volume 2 Australia / Germany is the creation of Perth based curator, publisher and editor, Mark McPherson, who is currently collaborating with emerging and established artists, curators, writers and photographers for future volumes of Hijacked.
    Hijacked Volume 1 was presented in the Book Award at the celebrated Rencontres dArles festival in France (2009) and received the Photo Book-Award of the Kasseler Fotoforum, Germany in the same year.
