  • Telethon Speech & Hearing Centre for Children says

This week, 22 - 28 August, is Hearing Awareness Week, an annual national initiative which aims to raise community awareness of hearing impairment.

Poor ear health in a child affects more than their ability to hear. Children who cant hear clearly have greater difficulty learning so its vital that a child's hearing is checked at an early age and re-checked if they have ongoing ear infections or have had serious illness.

Telethon Speech & Hearing (TSH) offers hearing testing for children of all ages including a newborn hearing screening for babies up to 4 months and diagnostic audiological testing for children up to 18 years. No referral is necessary.

Early diagnosis and intervention for children with hearing impairments is critical. The earlier we intervene, the greater the likelihood of success.

Call TSH on 9387 9831 during Hearing Awareness Week to make a booking for newborn screening or an audiological assessment for your child. Your child's hearing is too important not to.
