  • Old Mill Theatre says

The Old Mill Theatre is taking a trip back to 1807 at the end of April with a play set aboard a convict ship on its way to Australia.

Female Transport, directed by Hywel Williams, follows the story of six women convicts on their six-month journey aboard the Sydney Cove and their determination to survive the conditions below the decks.

While the women are treated with indifference and brutality, considered appropriate in the early 19th century, they survive by their wits, determination and sheer cunning.

    Female Transport plays at 8pm, April 23, 24, 28, 29, May 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8 with a 2pm matinee on May 2. Tickets are $20, $15 concession book on 9367 8719.

The heritage-listed Old Mill Theatre is on Mends Street, South Perth, opposite the Windsor Hotel.

  • Quizmeister Trivia says

LOOKING for something to do on Monday nights?

Chris Thomas hosts Quizmiesters Trivia at the High Wycombe Tavern from 7.30pm each week, taking people on a journey of bite-size information and knowledge.

Normal questions are transformed into little skits while mundane 50:50 questions are given their own stupid songs and animated screen time.

That's not to mention the movie scenes that are ruined by hilariously bad re-enactments.

The good news is that it costs nothing to play but you could end up with something at the end of the night.

People have the chance to win spot prizes of free drinks, along with the main prizes for winning the quiz.

The High Wycombe Tavern is at 530 Kalamunda Road.
